we return to the stepping stones from our summer holiday, but the rain appeared to have swept them away; they have been swallowed by the river

Mum and I take a walk to view Aira Force

CNV00006

after the rain, it feels like the most powerful thing I have ever seen, thundery and threatening

CNV00007

we circle back, admiring once again the autumn colours ablaze across the landscape; golds, reds and oranges like nothing I’ve ever seen in nature

CNV00012

the landscape is much changed in mist and fog and damp but I am sorry to leave

CNV00013

we say goodbye to Seatoller Farm, always our b&b of choice, and its owner, Christine

wandering

back home, I walk; our landscape is so utterly opposite to that of Borrowdale and yet, sometimes, I can understand its magic, too
